It is a time to honour our ancestors that have passed on and rid ourselves of any unwanted negative energy. It is believed that the veil between this life and the afterlife is at it's thinnest during this time, which makes it a great time of year to communicate with the dead. Liquorice root has been known to ease the path for the dead, while tobacco is a herb associated with healing and purification. Finally, wormwood aids in calling the spirits. At the bottom of your candle you will find a smoky quartz crystal, which can be used to repel negativity, dispurse fears, and allow room for positivity.
